Rescues allow us to keep going...The county shelter is here to house the animals that are either strays or owner release. Most of our animals are either reclaimed or rescued.
Our main posting page is on Facebook so please go to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Lawrence-County-IL-Animal-Shelter-186212697700/ to see animals that may be on hold. Our building is designed with the idea that animals only have a limited stay, so it is important that animals that are place-able into family homes are either adopted or rescued within a set time frame. Animals not adopted are posted for rescue through Illinois Animal Rescue and are sent to responsible shelters and animal facilities all over Illinois. Animals that need to be surrendered can be done so by appointment only and there is a $10 fee per animal. Shelter hours; Monday through Friday - 8:00 AM - Noon 1 PM - 4: PM Closed weekends and all Federal Holidays* *If the Courthouse is closed the shelter is also. |
